Every time I am supposed to take Lauren and Ryan’s photos it rains. Not just a little sprinkle, but good old torrential downpours accompanied by thunder and lightning. Thankfully, they say rain on your wedding day is really good luck! Lauren and Ryan balance each other so perfectly- she’s his princess and he’s her country boy. I loved that their wedding was such a wonderful mix of both of their tastes! Lauren loves pretty things and pink, and Ryan loves hunting and the great outdoors so it was only fitting that the decor on their head table was fashioned from antlers and a pink vase with flowers! I can’t say enough about how much I loved this special day. Lauren and Ryan are one of the sweetest, most gorgeous and laid back couples I have ever met, their bridal party was amazing and so fun to be around, and the thought and detail put into their wedding was simply beautiful. My jaw dropped when I saw the bride’s Vera Wang dress and the petal pink lace embellished bridesmaid dresses! To top it off, all of the bouquets and boutonnieres were made of paper! The girls began the day getting ready at the Service Plus Inns and Suites, and I was lucky enough to have time to take portraits of the them together before the ceremony! Meanwhile, the guys hung out in their boxers and ate lots of pizza! We headed to Whitby Hall where Ryan and his groomsmen were waiting anxiously. The couple built a beautiful arch decorated with flowers and set up an outdoor tent in case of rain, which hadn’t started yet! The ceremony was filled with tears and laughter and I was so overjoyed to witness this beautiful couple say “I do”. Just as we were finishing family photos, lightning cracked the sky and the downpour began. Luckily, we had an awesome backup location and I was able to sneak the new Mr. and Mrs. French away from the reception for a few minutes once the rain had stopped later that evening. We were made to feel like we were part of the family by Ryan and Lauren’s parents and we were even asked to sit at their table with them! It was such a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Whisk Bakery made cupcakes for dessert that were absolutely heavenly! They were so cute that I had to take a few ring shots on them. Congratulations Lauren and Ryan! I hope you love this little sneak peek and I wish you many, many years of love, happiness and as Ryan would put it, a “ginger army”!
