Katie & Zach are the sweetest couple, amazing parents to two incredible little boys and have been together as long as I can remember. I feel like we all had been waiting for this special day to come forever and I was so excited that it finally arrived and this dream of theirs would come true. In the days leading up to their wedding day, I grew more and more anxious as the weather forecast called for severe thunderstorms. All I could do was pray that they would be blessed with gorgeous weather for their wedding, and when I woke up that Saturday to the sun shining, I couldn’t have been happier! My morning with the girls while they were getting ready was super laid back and peaceful. Makeup By Shy and Hair Care and More did an outstanding job dolling the girls up, as always. When it was time to head to Whitby Hall for the ceremony, it was still sunny with just a few clouds in the sky. The couple had a simple and sweet setup for their ceremony outside, and it was so touching to witness them say their vows. Just as the ceremony ended and we were about to begin family photos, it began to sprinkle. My second shooter’s husband was texting her asking if we were all okay, and that they had huge hail and severe thunderstorms at their house in Stony Plain, and that there was flooding in the city! I tried to be as efficient as possible getting all of the photos done before we got totally poured on, but suddenly, the gorgeous sunshine popped out again! What luck! After taking a few photos at the ceremony location, we decided to head to my friends farm (Air Adventures Flight School) who had generously allowed us to use their property as our second location. They had the most gorgeous garden, complete with a moss covered wooden fence and creeping vines. On our way there it POURED, but within 5 minutes the rain stopped and we were able to finish our photos before heading to the reception! Katelyn and Zachary made the reception hall look so elegant with twinkling lights, white tablecloths, chair covers and simple floral and pearl centrepieces. It was absolutely gorgeous. One of the Maid’s Of Honour, is also the very talented owner of Whisk Bakery, and made all of the cupcakes, cake and cookie favours on the table! The evening was spent laughing and crying at the hilarious and touching speeches, and dancing the night away! Katie and Zach, I am so thankful that you chose me to capture your beautiful day. I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek!
